Making waves: Muskegon students dive into water safety education

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Students at Three Oaks Public School Academy in Muskegon have a unique opportunity to learn about water safety in a traditional classroom setting and a swimming pool!

Kindergarteners celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- Arbor Day, a holiday celebrating the “planting, upkeep and preservation of trees,” was Friday, April 26! To commemorate this national observance, students, parents and teachers at Three Oaks Public School Academy and Muskegon Conservation District volunteers took a trip to Lake Harbor Park to plant trees.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4)- A fantastic hands-on learning opportunity WOOD TV8 brings to classrooms across West Michigan is the Weather Experience. Hosted by Ellen Bacca, Chief Meteorologist at WOOD TV8, kids can learn about the weather in a fun and interactive way.

One of Choice Schools partners is Three Oaks Public School Academy. They are making literacy fun during March is reading month by hosting TOPSA family night. This event focused on the success of the students in reading and literacy. Its main focus was to take those successes and connect the students with an interest in a future career. These projects allow students to partner with community organizations to give back and help impact their city. Every grade from kindergarten to fifth grade includes a different project to help the greater community of Muskegon, whether it’s helping shelter animals, homelessness, or the environment.
