Student Activities

Project Focus

Project FOCUS (For Our Children’s Ultimate Success), a TrueNorth community service, is an out-of-school time program that implements mentoring, civic engagement, career and college preparation, social and emotional learning, high adventure and academic enrichment activities.  Project Focus students stay after school Monday through Thursday and are then bussed home afterwards.  The program has helped Three Oaks students improve academically and gain valuable experiences to enrich their lives.

Girls on the Run

Girls On The Run is more than just a running program for girls in third, fourth, or fifth grade. Girls on the Run (GOTR) focuses on reaching their end-of-the-season goal which is to run a 5K race. However, GOTR also focuses on having a healthy mind and body, and making good choices for you.

The Girls On the Run program begins in the spring and is a great way to get involved as a parent volunteer.  Speak to Ms. Vasbinder or Mr. Meldrum to learn more about how to get involved in the 2024-2025 season as a parent volunteer.

Three Oaks Elementary Basketball Program

This program is designed to teach elementary students the basic skills, fundamentals, and rules of basketball.  The main emphasis will be to have fun and learn. Competition along with sportsmanship will also be stressed. Games will be played in a regulation gym with regulation basket heights. Fundamentals, adherence to rules or the games, and sportsmanship will be emphasized by game officials.

Teams will have no more than 15 players, but if there are more than 15 students interested and registered, an addition team will be implemented. Each team will play five games before entering into tournament play. Non-tournament games are officiated in a way that allows the players to make mistakes and learn in the process. The tournament play officiating will be slightly tougher.

Registration will be held from in late January and will proceed until the season is over. Registration fees are required before a player can participate in a game. Registration forms, participations guides, and game schedules will be forwarded from the league office prior to the beginning of the season.
